The village water system will be seeing major improvements in the near future. In the plans are a filtration plant and another water storage tank. Engineering plans are being finalized now and construction is expected to begin soon. Check back for more updates.
6/3/08 - Trees are being removed to make room for new roads. The roads are partially completed.
9/19/08 - Site work is almost completed and construction has begun on the filtration building.
10/31/08 - The filtration building is almost completed.
12/31/08 - The filtration building construction is completed. Inside work and installation of the filters will begin in the spring. Soil testing will begin soon for the water storage tank.
1/15/10 - It's been a long wait but the Village Board has finally received permits from the NYS Health Dept. and the NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation. Construction on an additional water tank and installation of filtration equipment will begin as soon as weather permits.
4/30/10 - The foundation is being installed for the new water tank. The tank should be delivered in about 2 weeks.
8/9/10 - The new water storage tank has been completed. Work has now begun on a new collection well, plumbing, electrical, and installation of the filters in the filtration building. Completion of the project is finally in sight.
1/14/11 - The Barneveld filtration system is now online as of today. It's been a long wait, many approvals needed and last minute details, but the project is finally 99% done. We just have a few small items to complete this summer.
